Hug an Atheist Day

Hug an Atheist Day was created by William Bermudez in 2009 in the United States. Atheism is a lack of belief in the gods, not a skepticism, denial, or refutation of them. Some people who describe themselves as atheists also say they believe in a higher power, while others identify with a religion but do not believe in God. And so atheism is complicated to measure. However, according to the Pew Research Center, there are between 450 and 500 million unbelievers worldwide, about 7% of the global population. There is still an opinion that atheists lack morals and must be silent. Compliance is about treating atheists like normal people instead of judging their opinions.

To celebrate the day one just has to run up and hug as many disbelievers as possible. You don't even have to be a disbeliever to do this!
