About the Holiday
Until the 17th century, apple has become a general term for fruit. The apple represents a lot of things such as love, knowledge, bounty, good health, beauty and rebirth. As a result, there will a fruit holiday with unknown origin to start a new year relating this fruit, called Apple Gifting Day. It is often celebrated on the first day of January. The meaning behind giving an apple is to wish the recipient good health and a prosperous year.
There are several ways to give a gift of apples to someone. Simply, you can pack a half-dozen good apples into a gift box with a ribbon. Another way is to make apple pie, caramel apple, baked apple or dried apple…
The most interesting and traditional apple gift might be an old-fashioned pomander. You’ll need asymmetrical, firm-fleshed apple and a bag of whole cloves to make one. It is simple to make pomanders as a gift. Simply grab your apple and stick it all over with the whole cloves, packed together as tightly as you can get them. The apple should be hard to see once you’re done, buried under the cloves.
Why do we give an apple to your teacher?
