Not much is known about Humor Day, but multiple sources say it's "a day to find humor in any situation that comes our way" and "a day to remind us to look see the bright side and realize that most things really aren't as important as they seem at first." It takes place during National Humor Month, though it's not yet known whether there's a connection to it or not.
We are not sure about the origin of this holiday. Some people have believed that the director of the Carmel Humor Institute, named Larry Wilde, for declaring April to be Humor Month in 1976. However, he neither credits nor mentions Humor Day on the page.
