K.I.N.D. Day

K.I.N.D. Day is annually celebrated on May 4th in order to raise awareness for families and its agents trying to make sure these kids have everything they need.

History of K.I.N.D. Day

Firstly established in 2013 by Berries & Caterpillars founder, Candace M. Smith, K.I.N.D Day was established to help families in need in the Orlando community. News of this incredible cause spread and brought thousands of families together to help those in need.

Candace got involved in the community bringing diaper bags to families in need after her 4 Good Diapers project, which has been used by many families in need. Instead of giving up, she just redoubled her efforts to make sure that no baby needed to be left in wet diapers.

Being in wet diapers is not good for children and diapers should be changed frequently. Constantly wearing dirty diapers can lead to an itchy, painful and uncomfortable rash.

When exposed to human waste, these itchy rashes can be aggravated and extremely uncomfortable. Diaper rash can’t disappear when diapers are changed. The rash is still sensitive and painful, making it difficult for children to sleep and irritable.

This holiday is a cornerstone in efforts to alleviate a problem that nearly a third of parents are resenting today. While these parents struggle to make ends meet, they often fall short of the money needed to buy diapers for their babies.

More expensive ointments and creams will help alleviate these concerns. K.I.N.D. Day is your chance to lend them a hand!

How to celebrate K.I.N.D. Day

The easiest way to celebrate K.I.N.D. Day was to buy a few diaper bags and donate to a local support organization. If you're feeling sneaky and know a neighbor or stranger has trouble swaddling their baby, you can leave a gift for them on the porch.

If you see someone who is homeless and has a baby in diapers, you can ask if they need supplies. K.I.N.D. Day is a great opportunity to help ensure that all babies in the world have a clean and healthy bottom.
