Library

Are you a book lover? Are you a person who often immerses in books to learn and improve yourself? So you must have been to the library, which is a rich source of books. Libraries are everywhere these days and are a dating site for book lovers with thousands of great books. The fourth Wednesday of January of the year is a day dedicated to highlighting people's love of books, known as Library Shelfie Day.

This day is known as the day when everyone who participates will take selfies of themselves next to the shelves of books. Or just take pictures of the bookshelf. Maybe the bookshelf at home, but more meaningful than the selfies on the bookshelves in the library.

History Of Library Shelfie Day

Library Shelfie Day was initiated by the New York Public Library in 2014, and the day has become an annual tradition. On this day, people are encouraged to take pictures at the library, often selfies, as a way of showing their love for the treasures of knowledge in books. If you love books then surely at least once in your life you go to the library to check them out. Books are a source of inspiration and an inexhaustible treasure of human knowledge. And the library is a connector to connect people with books or connect people with a lot of great knowledge.

Libraries have been around for a long time. The earliest records of a library organization as it is now understood can be dated to around 5,000 years ago in parts of Southwest Asia around the world. One of the oldest libraries found is the ancient library at Ebla (circa 2500 BC) in present-day Syria. And to this day, there are many types of libraries opened up in many places such as: national libraries, private libraries, public libraries, school libraries. Each library synthesizes books in different flavors, but they all have the same purpose of education and enlightenment.

Observing Library Shelfie Day

To celebrate Library Shelfie Day, you're encouraged to go to any library, but usually to your favorite library, and snap a picture of yourself by the library's shelves. Maybe it's a selfie with your face in it, or maybe it's just a picture of a bookshelf in the library. And to express your great love for books and your library, take some time to rearrange your bookshelves and inspire those around you with encouraging and positive words. Plus, share your bookshelf selfie on social media with the hashtag #LibraryShelfieDay.
