National Dog Fighting Awareness Day
National Dog Fighting Awareness Day is observed next on Monday, April 8th, 2024 (127 days from today).
Dog fighting is also like cook fighting and buffalo fighting, it is a form of bloody sport for the purpose of entertainment to bring satisfaction to the audience, there is even a betting element which leads to the fact that dog fighting is similar to cockfighting in which two dogs (called fighting dogs or dog fights) are allowed to bite each other in an arena, usually a certain space (previously in the UK, it was given down to one dog). The filial piety and war of people are reflected in these forms of entertainment.
Dogs are aggressive and belligerent. Therefore, dogfights are often very fierce, in order to serve the entertainment of the crowd, dog fight handlers often do not take any action to prevent the animals from dying or being injured. For this reason, many people condemned dogfighting as barbaric and inhumane. However, there are still people who rely on dogfighting to make a profit. As a result, National Dog Fighting Awareness Day is set by the ASPCA on April 8 every year, this holiday reveals the truth behind dog fights and encourages dog lovers across the nation to take action to prevent and/ or put an end to this atrocity.
The History of Dog Fighting Awareness Day
National Dog Fighting Awareness Day is designated by the American Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) on April 8 (www.aspca.org/dogfighting). This day is celebrated to encourage animal lovers nationwide to take action against one of the most brutal forms of animal cruelty and raise funds to raise reveal lesser known facts about the blood sport and awareness about the popularity of dog fighting in the United States.
It is not until a dog is declared the winner that the dogfights are over, they are usually very long, and occur when one of the dogs stops resisting, possibly being killed, or a jumped out of a hole or runs away. In the UK and USA, the owner usually killed the losing dog and they are not killed in the fight, it is usually killed through a gun, beaten, or tortured. As a result, whether they lose or win, both uncles and uncles are full of injuries, if they are light, they will break their teeth, cut their lips and ears, and if they are heavy, they can lose their lives.
The owner will raise and train the dog with many lessons until the pet is mature and aggressive enough to fight. Many viewers terrified and angry when they saw the brutal dog fighting scenes. Next to pets who are suffering from painful injuries, it seems that betting participants don’t care about them and they are excited to share money after each win. In order to train a good fighting dog, the number of small animals such as cats were in used by the owner to incite the aggressive behavior of the pet by … so that it gets used to and becomes more and more fierce. Moreover, the dog itself will become aggressive after the dog has gone through the fights, which is very dangerous for society. There have been many cases abroad, dogs participating in dog fighting suddenly attacked children or even adults.
Today the laws of many countries prohibit this game, but it is still done secretly, even openly. The state of California in the United States of America stipulates that any person who commits any of the following acts shall be punished with 16 months in prison, or two to three years in prison, or a fine of not more than fifty thousand dollars (50,000 dollars USD), or apply both a fine and imprisonment if: First, with purpose of dogfighting, own, keep, or train dogs with the intention of using them to fight another dog. The second is to use dogs for entertainment, or to cause any dog to fight with another dog or to cause a dog to hurt another dog for self-interest. And third, support or abet activity (1) or (2) or allow activity (1) or (2) to occur in its jurisdiction.
National Dog Fighting Awareness Day is celebrated with the purpose: encourages people to take action by learning how to recognize and report suspected dogfighting activities so authorities can step in and sheds light on how common this crime is in the US and bring this horrible form of animal abuse to an end said Tim Rickey, ASPCA Vice President of Field Investigations and Response.
The ASPCA is asking people nationwide to share their views on April 8 and raise their awareness of dog fighting by visiting www.aspca.org/dogfighting.
