What You Think Upon Grows Day
What You Think Upon Grows Day is observed next on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 (170 days from today).
May 31st is the day you think about as an adult. The date was chosen to honor one of the pioneers of modern positive thinking, Norman Vincent Peale, who was born on this day in 1898. Peale is a renowned author, speaker and pastor. In fact, he has served at the Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan for more than fifty years.
Personally, I don't know what to think about this day. It is true that the more you think about good things, the more optimistic you will feel, and feeling positive and confident will help with anything you do. However, bad things do exist, and it doesn't help anyone who doesn't admit it. Also, I've never liked the combination of Christianity and pop-psych music. Christianity is good and true, but it is not a magic panacea for all your problems.
However, positive thinking and positive "self-talk" is a very powerful tool. It is true that “what you think grows”, so it also makes sense to think about the best we can do whenever we are.
