Women's Healthy Weight Day
Women's Healthy Weight Day is observed next on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 (41 days from today).
Women's Healthy Weight Day is always observed on Thursday of the third full week in January.
Origin of Women's Healthy Weight Day
Maybe a day for ladies, and a day for husbands. While waking your spouse up on Women's Healthy Weight Day to declare that you've wholeheartedly accepted her size can make you feel uncomfortable, it's clearly an occasion to empowering women.
Although now an international issue, it is not surprising that it originated in the United States, which has been appreciated while scaling can be accomplished with a unique Stateside joie de vivre second.
For the rest of the world, it has become a day of more humble reflection and an opportunity to highlight the woman behind the shallow stereotypes they often hold. In short, it's a day for close friends to get together and celebrate each other in any way they choose.
Brunch, barbecue, cheese and wine? At the risk of having to state that, it could also be renamed International Amnesty Day. Or for the gentlemen, International Day of Walking on Eggshells!
How to Celebrate Women’s Healthy Weight Day
It is true that in the past few years, society has produced an extensive list of “country-something” days. While it is difficult to keep up with all of them, this is definitely worth your attention. On Thursday, January 25, the world will celebrate "National Women's Healthy Weight Day". This is so active that we can't help but write about it!
You may be wondering what National Women's Healthy Weight Day entails, so fret not as we'll be your guide on everything promoting the holiday. The first point to note is that this day is to celebrate and accept each person's natural appearance and weight. This day encourages a healthy, diet-free lifestyle while focusing on improving our health in better ways.
So instead of focusing on intense dieting, this day is about sharing knowledge about improving our overall health through healthy eating and physical activity. There are a number of ways you can celebrate Women's Healthy Weight Day, so we've provided you with a list of ways to improve your health in a body-positive way!
-
Stop counting your calories
While watching all you consume in a day isn't necessarily a bad thing, some people feel a bit out of place. They won't allow themselves to eat more than a certain amount of calories in a day to lose some weight they don't want. This is not good for your health and also not a good way to diet. What many people fail to consider is that once you stop allowing yourself to eat a certain amount, then stop controlling your calorie intake and go back to eating the way you used to, you run the risk of severe weight gain because the back-and-forth calorie intake confuses your body.
-
More fruits and vegetables
There seems to be a stigma around fruits and vegetables that they are not as enjoyable as chips or other unhealthy foods. This is wrong! There are so many great recipes with deliciously flavored fruits and vegetables. Recipes range from meals to snacks, so you're bound to find something with fruits and veggies to complement whatever you're feeling hungry for. Also, instead of having a lot of meat and carbs on your plate, make sure that fruits and vegetables make up the bulk of your plate at mealtimes rather than other less healthy items.
-
Exercise at least 30 minutes a day
There are many ways to be active that don't just include going to the gym. Walking, jumping on a trampoline, even playing Just Dance are all different ways you can get active. Some people believe that physical activity means working out entirely on a treadmill or other machine, but as we've shown, there are other activities that count toward cardio that you wouldn't even think about. As long as you're still getting your heart rate from movement, you're active!
-
No discrimination or comparison
Your weight is your weight, not someone else's. Therefore, keeping a healthy mindset is also as important as keeping a healthy weight. Everyone has a different size, shape, and genetic set, so there's no reason to compare you to anyone else or discriminate against someone who's bigger or smaller than you. As long as you are keeping your BODY healthy, you can easily spend your time and energy supporting and replenishing those around you, instead of bringing them down!

Keep a cool head
Reading a name like Women's Healthy Weight Day has the potential to disappoint a lot of people for the wrong reasons, so remember to keep your head up and keep your hopes high. This holiday, if you will, doesn't mean more women than men are underweight, nor does it mean men don't deserve one. This day is simply a safe day for women to feel open about their goals, achievements, and lifestyle.
