World Typing Day
World Typing Day is observed next on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025 (35 days from today).
World Typing Day, also referred to as Typing Day or International Typing Day, is an annual celebration that originated in Malaysia in 2011. It is held on January 8. Typing Day is established by Speed Typing Contest team from Junior Chamber International Mines and Team TAC to enhance speed, accuracy and efficiency in written communication.
Origin of Typing Day
It is first time when there is a day to encourage people to show themselves through written communication and to promote speed, accuracy and efficiency in this type of communication. Besides, it also commemorates the Malaysian Speed Tying Contest 2011 with two records in the Malaysian Book of Records (MBR) including the Fastest Typist and the Largest Participation for a Typing Event.
Typing Day is chosen to celebrate on 8 January because it is about a week after New Year where everyone will have the time to think through and plan what he or she wants to do for the following days and write it down on this day. For example, documents and ideas during the past year; vision, mission, and goals for this coming year, ideas, opinions of the previous years, etc. can be produced and shared with others.
How to join in the competition?
If you cannot take part in the Malaysian contest, you can join in by 10FastFingers.com with different languages.
