How many days until International Sword Swallowers Day?

International

International Sword Swallowers Day is an annual celebration held on the last Saturday of February every year. We swallow food, but what about swords? Don't ever put it in your mouth now for testing because you are forbidden to do that. So many people all over the world were passionate about doing such a seriously dangerous activity. Swallowing a sword is one of the actions or skills in which a trained person passes a sword through the mouth down the esophagus to the stomach. Indeed, it is necessary to honor the talented personalities who have actively participated in doing so. To honor and appreciate sword swallowers and their practice of sword swallowing, International Sword Swallowers Day was created.

History of International Sword Swallowers Day

International Sword Swallower Day celebrates the art of sword swallowing. As some might think, the act of swallowing a sword is not really an illusion. Although sword swallowers do not actually swallow swords, they open their esophagus so much that the sword can pass through the stomach. The first known sword swallowing is believed to have occurred in southern India before 2000 BC. Don't try to celebrate this holiday at home. Except for a very few true experts, you are better off being a spectator than a participant.

The International Swallows Day Festival was first held in 2007 and is organized by the International Swallowers Association, SSAI, and co-sponsored by Ripley Entertainment. February was chosen for this holiday because February is National Swallowing Disorders month and events related to the holiday help raise money for esophageal cancer research and fund treatment for sword swallowers injured during work.
