National Quacker Day

National Quacker Day is annually observed on February 4^th. It was started by Jeanne Bice, who founded a women's clothing company called The Quacker Factory with the aim of creating clothes that stand out, "sparkle and shine" and make everyone smile.

History of National Quacker Day

National Quacker Day celebrates "Quacker" or the Quacker Factory enthusiasts themselves. This is a women's clothing company founded by Jeanne Bice. Her goal is to make clothes stand out, "sparkle and shine" and make people smile. The Silent Woman was her first store in Ripon, Wisconsin. She was widowed in 1981 and started the clothing line that would turn into the Quacker Factory with her business partner, Maryanne Diedrich. In 1981, Bice moved to Florida.

On February 4, 1995, Bice and her clothing line debuted on the cable shopping channel QVC. Bice was an instant hit and her entire clothing line sold out while she was still on the air. Quacker Factory quickly went from a small business to a multi-million dollar business, and Bice appeared several times on QVC before her death in 2011. She was known for her stories, for wear headbands and wear clothes decorated with sequins. Bice has a close connection with its customers and says of them, "My scammers may come in as customers, but they stay as friends."

Customers start to feel like they are part of a community and start planning meetings. They start calling themselves Quackers and will even make fun of each other when they see each other. Bice officially created National Quacker Day in 2010 and takes place on February 4, the anniversary of her debut on QVC, which is a great chance to honor all “Quacker” and their great spirit.
