How many days until National Rosé Day?

National

National Rosé Day commemorates a wine that complements many dishes on the second Saturday in June each year.

If you are a wine lover, you certainly know that red wine is a wine that gets a lot of color from the grapes, while white wine only contains ingredients from the juice of the grapes themselves. But what is this mysterious rosé that we often hear about? National Rosé Day is your chance to learn the difference and how amazing the results are. Want it? Rosé wines are wines that contain only some of the color of the grape skins but lack the bold and intense color of red wine.

History of National Rosé Day

When the sky is clear, the sun comes out and the sunbeds come out, it's the perfect time to get yourself a smooth pink drink. But who was the first magician to bottle the pink of the sunset sky?

Unfortunately, the exact time when this drink was first made is not known for a long time, many of the more familiar red wines are usually rosé. This is because the techniques used to make wines darker such as hard pressing are not widely practiced. Places like ancient Greece, which were wine experts, preferred lighter drinks when you appeared more civilized.

The Greeks and Romans finally figured out how to separate their red and white wines, but it was around the middle of the middle Ages when people from Phocaea, present-day Turkey, brought vines to the ancient city. Marseille, making people turn to pink.

However, Rosé arrived a little late to the party in America. It wasn't until very recently that one of the famous American wineries, Sutter Home Winery, tried to recreate the summer drink and failed, with their first results being too sweet with a difficult aftertaste. That didn't stop the winery from trying to perfect the recipe and become the first producer of the red drink.

Today, rosé wine is associated with all that is luxury, class, charm, etc. It is so widespread that it is considered a thirst quencher. An easy drink to sip while you're cooking or refreshment offered to guests before dinner.

The bubbly rose status strengthened in 2014 when the Hamptons ran short of roses. And it's no surprise that in October of the same year, International Rosé Day was officially recognized.
