Shades Day

Shades Day is the Family Holiday Association's national awareness and fundraising day, when we encourage everyone to wear doubles, no matter the weather!

This is the closest Friday to the United Nations International Day of Families and the day we realize that thousands of struggling UK families never get to enjoy a simple holiday away from home.

Bring your friends, family, and co-workers together and encourage everyone to find a pair of shades and donate. And don't forget to share your snaps with us on social media using the hashtag #ShadesDay.

It was a fun and simple day to take part in. We asked everyone to wear a color pair and share them on twitter using #ShadesDay and texting donate 'SHAD35 £3' to raise £3. We created a fundraising pack that included shooting props, photos, activities, poster ideas and cupcakes to help get everyone in the spirit of the nuanced day.
