There are more and more Parkour fans around the world and from the outside it just looks like a lot of unnecessary running and jumping, behind it is a philosophy that has changed thousands of lives. We Jump World Day is a special opportunity to spend all day on art, free running. Moreover, you can take the attitude towards the obstacles it offers enthusiasts. Are you a big fan of Parkour? Are you looking for a new way to approach challenges? Of course, We Jump the World Day is just for you.
History of We Jump the World Day
The origins of Parkour can be derived from Western Europe, where George Hebert, a French Navy Officer, was contemplating his time among the indigenous tribes of Africa. He discovered that without formal training, they have beautiful bodies, grace, agility, dexterity, and all this is a result of the way they live their lives, nothing more and nothing less. He will take a visit to remember these experiences during a rescue operation on Mount Pelee, his experiences in his mind courage and altruism are intrinsic parts of skill.
David Belle will not be born for 37 years after he reaches these conclusions, but he will base these studies on discovering his father's successes in athletics and gymnastics. He will discover a training method his father used called “Parcours”, after which he begins to practice on his own. It won't be long before he begins to extend this philosophy to the world and share the art of what will be called parkour.
Celebrating We Jump the World Day
Parkour may be an art form that focuses on honing and expanding the body's abilities, but it is built on the philosophy that the obstacles in our lives can nurture us through by trying to conquer them. Furthermore, the best way to overcome obstacles is to use methods that are as natural and energy efficient as possible. If you don't want to pursue the art of parkour on your own, it's still a good opportunity to watch videos of the doers and perhaps take the time to read to understand exactly what drives these remarkable athletes.
