1979: Smallpox announcement was completely eliminated.

1986: Launched the global HIV/ADIS prevention program.

1988: Planned to completely eradicate polio worldwide.

1998: 50th anniversary of the establishment of the organization. The WHO Director-General informed about the importance of children as well as informed about reducing infant mortality and increasing life expectancy, reducing dangerous diseases.
