How many days until International Be Kind To Lawyers Day?

International

It is a great chance for all of us to honor the lawyer on International Be Kind to Lawyers Day on the second Tuesday in April annually.

International Be Kind to Lawyers Day on the second Tuesday in April every year is about showing the love and respect they deserve with lawyers in our lives. A report showed that a rate for their honesty and ethical standards are voted at decent average (approximately 51%). Of course, lawyers meet many difficult situations but they realize that they are part of their job! Let's take a moment today to acknowledge the amazing work they do to get us out of the messes we make ourselves into.

Origin

Steve Hughes, a public speaking coach, founded International Day of Kindness to Lawyers in 2008. Hughes has worked with many attorneys to improve his public speaking and presentation skills. them and noticed that the public often had a negative opinion of this profession every time he explained that he had worked with a lot.

Hughes believes attorneys deserve our love, admiration and respect at least one day out of 365. He chose the second Tuesday in April because it coincides with two other holidays that have slightly negative connotations - April Fool's Day (April 1st) and US Tax Day (April 15th). Maybe he's trying to make the lawyers look complacent!

Since this is an international holiday, the world has joined in the commitment to set aside one day each year for us to limit our lawyers' jokes and strive for a range of good deeds. Seriously, most of us have friends or family members who are lawyers. If not, you may be in a group that is already represented by an attorney. And we're sure they've represented you well. The attorneys are always supportive of us and do what they can to get us out of the water. So it's not hard to get into the idea that they should be celebrated today.

Some facts about Lawyers

Lawyers are often mocked and ridiculed about them, and they rank low on lists of the most respected professions. However, when people need legal help, they turn to lawyers. Steve Hughes was the creator of International Fair Lawyers Day. He was a public speaker who has worked with attorneys on presentation skills and realized them to be very welcoming. When Steve mentions to others that he has worked with attorneys, they will often react negatively and make sarcastic comments, leaving Steve to defend the attorneys. He thinks about how to have National Ice Cream Day and Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, and argues that lawyers are just as good at it, if not better, and should have their own day. He decided to create a day to show attorneys that they care, even if it's just one day of the year. He chose the second Tuesday in April because it happens between April Fools' Day and Tax Day. He created it since 2008; however, it is believed that its origin was not an "international" holiday. It looks like this was added later, possibly in 2017, when interest in the day spread around the world.

Lawyers are believed to have been around since ancient Greece. Today there are more than one million licensed attorneys in the United States. They are legal professionals who work as advocates, attorneys, attorneys, and attorneys, and apply the law to solve problems, often representing plaintiffs and defendants in court. They can specialize in areas such as criminal law, civil law, estate law, estate law, business law and family law. It's normal to have a long and stressful workday, often coming into work late in the evenings and weekends. Attorneys also spend many hours of their time each year dealing with professional cases—those carried out in the public interest without compensation.

To become a lawyer in the United States, you must earn a bachelor's degree, followed by three years of law school, and then a bar exam. To practice law in a state, a lawyer must be licensed to practice there. Attorneys must also keep up with applicable laws, as they are always changing. Salaries for attorneys are between $100,000 and $200,000 a year, and it varies greatly depending on the type of law being practiced, how many years the attorney has practiced, and if they practice privately, the public company or government.

How to celebrate this day

  • Watch movies about lawyers

Watch your favorite movie with a lawyer as the main character. There's definitely a lot to choose from! “To Kill a Mockingbird” is one of the most famous lawyer movies but you can choose some other good choices such as “The Firm”, “A Few Good Men” and “Legal Blonde”.

  • Show the love

Don't forget to simply say "Thank you" to the attorneys who have helped you in the past. Whether they represent you in a legal proceeding, help you with personal legal matters, or are currently working with you in a corporate setting, today is the day to show their love.

  • Send referrals their way

Depending on the type of law you concern in your daily life, do not forget referring your friends to get the biggest compliment for yourself and make sure to be appreciated. Writing a compelling review on their social sites can also be a great motivator for their business.
