National Spaghetti Day is celebrated on January 4 every year. This day gives you an opportunity to pick your favorite sauce and put it into the pasta of Italian and Sicilian Origin. The pasta are known as long, thin, and cylindrical. Spaghetti is an essential part of traditional Italian cuisine. This is a type of Pasta usually made from semolina flour and water. Italian spaghetti is made from durum wheat semolina but in many places it can be made from a variety of other flours. Not even pasta is called Spaghetti. Depending on the shape, size, accompanying sauce and processing, Pasta has its own name to distinguish it. Spaghetti can be roughly understood as a noodle dish often served with tomato sauce with large, long noodles, with typical spices like oregano, meat, vegetables and olive oil. There is some survey information that Spaghetti is the most popular food in the world. It is more popular than meat, rice and pizza.

Spaghetti is the plural form of the Italian word spaghetti, a diminutive of the word spago, meaning “thin string“ or “string“

Initially, pasta was a dish reserved for the nobility in Italy, and then gradually became popular and eaten by hand in the city of Naples. Pasta is a typical Italian dish, but its origins are still a subject of controversy. According to a book by the 13th century explorer Marco Pola, pasta originated in China. However, this argument was immediately refuted when a note by the Muslim geographer al-ldrisi appeared that this dis was produced in Sicily (South of the Italian peninsula) in the 12th century. At the time, pasta was a dish for rich on special occasions. In contrast, for farmers, sometimes they can only eat this dish once in their life.

By the 17th and 18th centuries, when the price of meat and vegetables increased, pasta gradually became popular and was mass-produced in Naples, the neighboring city of Sicily. As noted by the great German poet Goethe in 1787, pasta could be bought cheaply everywhere in the city. This dish is simple prepared with cheese.

Pasta was not eaten with a spoon or fork, but had to be picked by hand and then put in the mouth. That is the culture that attracts tourists to Naples. Many guests accept to spend large sums of money , hire beggars on the roadside to try this noodle dish to admire the unique customs. Italian pasta at that time was not only a dish but also an endless source of inspiration for artists.

In the past, Italian pasta used only one seasoning, hard cheese. By the 19th century, people began to add ketchup. The way Italian pasta is made changed a lot in the 20th century. Instead of drying the noodles with the wind and the sun, many factories process and dry the noodles in electric ovens. No longer a hand-picked street food, Italian noodles are gradually becoming popular in family meals. It is this change that makes Italian noodles return to their traditional way of eating, using a spoon and fork from the 14th century.
